Great apps are the ones that don’t sap your energy:

We’ve managed to turn text notes into closed, proprietary formats that are specific to a single piece of software. That’s a bummer. You can’t sync your Apple Notes to Dropbox.

It really is a shame how locked-in silos our data is these days. Oh and the privacy around that data isn’t too great either.

Why is the default that, when I use software, the product managers and support people can just read my data whenever they want?
